I know where I am, I've been lost here before!

I really don't have anything to say today. I feel kinda stumped. Like, theres a million things running through my mind, but at the same time not much. So I shall start talking and am pretty sure I'll come up with something interesting. That's what they tell you about writing. Write even if you don't know what to say.

I saw Pirates 4 at midnight in a fantastic theater. It was wonderful. I took Tenshi with me and got Clark and Dungeon Daddy to also join me. I also convinced Pokeboss and another staff member whom I now dub Red Button (she hasn't found the blog yet but eventually I'll let my staff read it) to attend. And by convinced I mean I walked into the office a week before and said "Anyone want to go see Pirates 4 with me? I'll drive" and they quickly volunteered.

I enjoyed the movie. They do manage to capture some rather brilliant pirate-esque moments. Like Blackbeards opening monologue, from the balcony of his ship with flames around him, was pretty epic. And Johnny Depp really has the character down. Story was fine and Geoffrey Rush did wonderful too.

I should put some cliffnotes on this. I usually like movies. If I don't think I'm going to like a movie, I'm probably not going to see it. Clark also I don't think cared for the movie. And he's a film guy. And while I trust his opinion on what movies are good, great, and classic, I don't always trust his dislike for movies. I mean, he didn't like the Jungle Book, one of my favorite Disney movies. Dungeon Daddy enjoyed it, and he's critical of my love for most movies too. So it can't be half bad right?

Anyway, this reminds me of the mountain of movies Tenshi gave me for our anniversary which was a few months ago but we finally got around to celebrating it. Among the movies included Up, Ratatouille, How to Train Your Dragon, Tangled, and a few other "child targeted movies". I gave her some awesome artwork I purchased from Chile (it was by her old roommate who is from Chile, but still) Who's the mature one in our relationship?

This makes me recall Pirates 4 night. I remembered that when I have fun, I can sometimes be a pest. And its awesome. Let me set the scene. Pokeboss and Red Button still for the most part see me as their boss. Yea, I have a good relationship with all my staff but I keep it professional, even when I joke around with all of them.

But when we were at a midnight screening of Pirates, after my FOURTH 10+hour workday in a row. I was completely hyped up on Coke, the drink not the drug, and my veins were filled with sugar and caffeine. We also had gotten ourselves free popcorn at this screening and I was hanging out with Tenshi and some of my best friends, so I was in relaxed mode not be professional mode. What does this mean?

(I know Naysayer P Smith reads my blog and so he's probably worried that I broke some kind of employee-employer rule. Relax.)

I start acting like a pest. This translated as throwing some of that free popcorn at Red Button when she wasn't looking (and hiding behind Dungeon Daddy when she glanced over). She didn't really react or act out so naturally I continued chucking kernels until she completely ignored me. No fun. Later I kept flipping Pokeboss's hood so it smacked her in the back of the head. She glanced at me but also tried to pretend nothing happened. I did that a few more times to no reaction. Again no fun.

Actually it thoroughly amused me. If I get a reaction its more fun but I take my kicks where I get them. Ask Mama G. Or Nemesis. It wouldn't be a good day if Mama G didn't shout "Dammit James" at some point. And I used to do things like take Nemesis' silverware or move her chair around with my feet until it devolved into another battle to the death. And if Spam Boa and I were together, you know whatever we did was going to be glorious. I also got some of my staff by bumping their elbow when they are trying to take a picture.

All harmless. All extremely amusing to me. Its a sign I'm in my comfort zone and having a good time. Likelihood says if I'm being a pest to you, I consider you a friend and worthy of me letting some walls down. Sucks for you? At least you're not my little sister. Cheeky Monkey had me and Jules Drewe Yorke to deal with. She must love us cuz she's still talking to us haha!

I'll end this blog with the rationale for the title.

Tenshi and I returned today from our anniversary trip and while I've made the drive many times before and know where the freeways get tricky, we still ended up going on the wrong freeway, naturally the only one with traffic. So we turned around to get back on track only to find on ramps going in the opposite direction. I got on thinking I could get off at the next exit and then get back on and take the proper on ramp. Of course, there were no exits for like 2 miles and when we finally got off there was no easy way back on. We drove around a series of bad neighborhoods until finally getting back on. Its a good thing I have a good sense of direction and know which way I want to go. I just hate it when the roads don't line up like they are supposed to. Who designed this city??

And of course, this all happened while I had to go to the bathroom really bad and we were like 15 minutes away from home. Fail.

This used to happen to Spam Boa and I all the time. He'd be the navigator and I'd be the driver (unless he had whatever girlfriend of his at the time with him, then I'd be the chauffeur, but I digress) and we'd inevitably still go the wrong way. It became a mantra of "I know where I am I've been lost here before" because we'd always get turned around at the same places. I maintain, to someone with my crappy eyesight, North and South look the same from a distance. Maybe they should have said Up and Down, at least those have a different amount of letters... It's not like our freeways actually go true North and South...

Perhaps I'll reminisce about more adventures next week. Have a great evening!
